The Repeater Scores App is now live and ready for public use at https://repeater-scores.app/. After testing with radio operators in various parts of the country, the app is now available to help hams build practical, scored repeater lists for their radios.

Repeater Scores uses information from RepeaterBook to generate a practical “repeater score” intended to help operators identify repeaters that may be more useful, active, linked, wide-area, or relevant when traveling through an unfamiliar region. The score is not meant to label a repeater as good or bad; rather, it gives operators another piece of context when deciding which repeaters to load, monitor, or try first.

The app can generate importable CSV files for ICOM-5100 and CHIRP workflows, making it easier to prepare radio memories without manually sorting through large repeater lists. Users can select one or more states, set minimum score thresholds, and export a CSV tailored to their needs. Operators who want a complete list can set the score threshold to zero, while travelers who want a more focused list can raise the minimum score.

Scoring takes into account several practical indicators, including listed nets, linked systems, AllStar, EchoLink, IRLP, wide-area coverage, public-service affiliations such as ARES, RACES, and SKYWARN, and other signals that may suggest a repeater is especially useful to try first.

“The goal is simple: help operators make better repeater choices faster,” said the project team. “Whether someone is traveling, building a go-kit, preparing for public-service work, or just trying to clean up their radio memories, Repeater Scores gives them a starting point that is more useful than a raw repeater dump.”

The current public version is focused on analog 2-meter and 70-centimeter repeaters. The app is designed to supplement RepeaterBook, not replace it, and generated rows link back to the original RepeaterBook listings so operators can review the source information and make their own decisions.
